CHOCOLATE SHEET CAKE 
2 c. flour
1/2 c. shortening
3 tbsp. cocoa
2 eggs
1 c. water
1 stick butter
1 tsp. baking soda
2 c. sugar
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix sugar and flour. Heat butter, cocoa, water, and shortening to boiling point. Pour hot mixture over dry mixture. Blend well. Add buttermilk, to which soda has been added. Add beaten eggs and vanilla last. Batter will be very thin. Bake in oblong pan for 20 minutes at 400 degrees.

BUTTERMILK CHOCOLATE ICING:

1 stick butter
4 tbsp. cocoa
6 tbsp. buttermilk
1 box powdered sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. chopped nuts

Mix butter, cocoa and buttermilk. Bring to boil. Remove from heat and add powdered sugar and vanilla. Beat until smooth and add nuts. Pour over hot cake.
