DRESSING FOR LETTUCE OR SLAW 
1/8 c. vinegar
1/8 c. water
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. bacon grease (opt.)
Salt and pepper to taste

Combine all ingredients in a small saucepan or skillet, stirring constantly until thickened and turns clear. Pour over lettuce and onions or slaw.
