PAT'S BREAD PUDDING | |
5 c. milk 8 eggs 2 1/2 c. sugar 3 tsp. vanilla 1 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1 1/4 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 c. melted butter 1 c. raisins, plumped in water 1 c. chopped pecans Cube bread and soak in milk for 45 minutes. Beat eggs and add next 5 ingredients and add to bread. Layer raisins and pecans alternately with bread mixture. Bake in greased 9 x 13 inch pan in 350 degree oven for 15 minutes. Then turn oven to 300 degrees and bake 40 minutes longer. Last 15 minutes, turn oven up to 425 degrees to brown top. If it's getting too brown, cover with foil for last part of baking. Serve warm with ice cream or whipped cream or regular coffee cream! Delicious!! |
