KIKI'S BASIL LEMONADE | |
1 heaping cup fresh basil 1 tbsp. sugar 2 tbsp. water 1 cup lemon juice (about 4 large lemons, squeezed) 6 cups water 3/4 cup sugar additional sliced lemons and basil, for garnish In a small bowl place 1 heaping cup of fresh basil with 1 tablespoon sugar and 2 tablespoons water. Well bruise (mash) basil and set aside. Squeeze four lemons for about one cup of juice. In pitcher combine 1 cup lemon juice, strained bruised basil (if desired), 6 cups water and 3/4 cups sugar and stir. Garnish with lemon and basil as desired. Notes: different types and freshness of basil will create different tastes. For stronger flavors add more basil or more lemons. Submitted by: KiKi |
