FAST-FOOD STYLE DOUBLE PATTY
MELT

This method/ingredients list lacks convention, but it truly has a "fast food" taste when you're craving something greasy. Frozen, pre-cut grocery store patties are recommended only because they'll retain the shape of quick burger joint.

PER SERVING:

1 1/2 tbsp. butter
2 slices sandwich bread, toasted
2 frozen pre-cut burger patties (preferably 15-85 or 80-20)
1/4 cup chopped onion
2 slices American cheese
salt, pepper and garlic powder, to taste.
ketchup, mustard and pickles, to taste

Heat skillet to medium heat. Add all butter and frozen patties once butter is melted. Place bread slices in toaster.

After toast is done to your liking, add American cheese and desired condiments while the burgers cook. Rotate burgers every 2 to 3 minutes.

Approximately 2/3 through burger cook time, add chopped onions. Sweat them on the side for about 2 to 3 minutes and remove excess drippings with wadded paper towel.

Combine onions and burger after removing excess dripping. Continue rotating burger patties with the onion.

Once burgers are cooked and the onions are caramelized, layer the first patty on the bottom piece of bread and top with 1/2 of the cooked onion. Add the second patty. Top second patty with remaining onion. Place top piece of bread on top of the second patty. The remnant heat will melt the cheese.

Enjoy!
