SWEDISH DILL CUCUMBERS 
6 to 8 thinly sliced cucumbers
1 tsp. salt
1 c. sour cream
2 tbsp. white vinegar
1 tbsp. superfine sugar
1 tbsp. minced fresh dill or 1 tsp. dried
3 tbsp. minced fresh chives
1/8 tsp. white pepper

Place cucumbers in a colander and sprinkle with salt. Weight the cucumbers with a heavy plate and let them drain for 1 hour. Transfer to a large bowl. Combine the remaining ingredients. Pour over the cucumbers. Toss well. Serve chilled.

Yields 6 to 8 servings.
