GERMAN APPLE CAKE | |
2 c. sugar 2 eggs 1/2 c. oil 2 c. flour 1 tsp. baking soda 1 tsp. cinnamon 1/2 tsp. salt 4 c. raw apples, chopped 2 tsp. vanilla 1 c. raisins 1 c. walnuts, chopped Beat together thoroughly first three ingredients. In another bowl, sift together flour, soda, cinnamon and salt. Add to egg and sugar mixture; then apples and vanilla. Add flour mixture to egg and apple mixture. Fold in the raisins and chopped walnuts. Pour into greased and floured oblong pan; bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes or less. Check it every 20 minutes. FROSTING: 2 1/2 c. confectioners sugar 2 tbsp. butter 1 (8 oz.) pkg. cream cheese 1 tbsp. vanilla flavoring Beat thoroughly to spreading consistency. |
