DEVIL DOGS 
2 1/2 c. flour
1 c. sugar
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
1 egg
1 c. milk
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 c. cocoa

FILLING:

1 tbsp. cornstarch
1 tbsp. flour
1 tsp. vanilla
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. Crisco
1 c. milk
1 tsp. butter

Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, butter, vanilla, egg, milk, baking soda and cocoa all together. Drop onto lightly greased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 15 minutes. Then cool.

Filling: Heat milk, cornstarch and flour on low until it comes to a paste. Put in refrigerator until cool. Beat vanilla sugar, Crisco and butter until fluffy. Beat by hand with milk mixture from refrigerator. Cut devil dogs lengthwise and add filling to middle.
