DEVIL DOG COOKIES 
1 c. shortening
3 c. sugar
4 beaten eggs
2 tsp. vanilla
5 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
2 tsp. baking soda
1 c. cocoa

Cream shortening with sugar. Add eggs and vanilla. Stir flour, salt, baking soda and cocoa. Mix together, then add 1 cup sour milk. Drop by tablespoon onto greased cookie sheet. Bake for 12 minutes in 350 degree oven.

FILLING:

3 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. cornstarch
1 c. shortening
1 c. milk
1 c. sugar
2 tbsp. vanilla

Cook flour, cornstarch and milk until forms a real thick paste, then add shortening, sugar and vanilla. Beat with electric mixer until very light. Spread between cookies and enjoy.
