OLD FASHIONED BROWN BREAD 
1 c. flour
1 c. cornmeal
2 c. buttermilk
1 c. raisins
1 c. wheat flour
3/4 c. dark molasses
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt

Sift white flour, baking powder, salt and soda into bowl. Add cornmeal. Mix molasses and wheat flour together. Add to other flour mixture. Add rest of ingredients, beat well.

Grease tins and fill 2/3 full. Steam for 3 hours on low heat in 1 1/2 inches of water. Put on rack or towel in bottom of kettle and cover while steaming.
