2/3 c. butter
2/3 c. solid butter flavored shortening
3/4 c. white sugar
3/4 c. brown sugar, packed
2 eggs
2 tsp. vanilla extract
3 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 (3 1/2 oz.) pkg. instant vanilla pudding mix
1 (12 oz.) pkg. chocolate chips, semi-sweet

With mixer, beat shortenings together until fluffy. Add both sugars; beat until well blended. Beat in eggs and vanilla. Set aside. In separate bowl, mix together flour, soda, salt, and pudding mix. Stir in chocolate chips. Drop by heaping tablespoonful onto ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees for 14- 18 minutes. Yields 4 dozen.
