COUNTRY BEAN SOUP 
2 1/2 c. bean mixture and ham bone or diced ham
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 lg. can tomatoes
1 tbsp. chili powder
1 clove garlic, chopped
Juice of 1 lemon
Salt and pepper to taste

Wash beans. Place in large kettle and cover with water. Add 1-2 tbsp. salt. Soak overnight. In A.M. drain and add 2 quarts water and ham bone. Simmer 2 1/2 - 3 hours. Add remaining ingredients. Simmer another 30 minutes or so stirring occasionally.
