SPECIAL OCCASION CHOCOLATE CAKE 
6 oz. unsweetened chocolate
3/4 c. real butter
6 eggs
2 c. sugar
2 tsp. vanilla
1/4 tsp. salt
1 1/4 c. flour
3/4 c. semi-sweet chocolate chips

Grease 2 (9-inch) pans. Line with waxed paper on bottoms and grease and flour. Melt butter and chocolate squares on low heat; cool to lukewarm.

Mix eggs, sugar, vanilla, and salt; beat in chocolate. Stir in flour and chips. Bake at 350 degrees for 35 minutes. Cool and remove from pans.

FROSTING:

3 squares unsweetened chocolate
3/4 c. butter
1 egg, beaten slightly
2 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. lemon juice
2 2/3 c. powdered sugar

Melt chocolate and butter; cool 15 minutes. Mix all ingredients and beat until smooth.
