1 1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. shortening
2 eggs
2 3/4 c. flour
2 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. salt

Heat oven to 400 degrees. Mix sugar and shortening, butter and eggs in large mixer bowl. Stir remaining ingredients. Shape dough by rounded teaspoons into balls.

Mix 3 teaspoons cinnamon and 3 tablespoons sugar and roll balls in mixture. Place about 2 inches apart on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 400 degrees about 8-10 minutes. Makes about 6 dozen cookies.
