6 (6") tostada shells 1 (16 oz.) can refried beans 1 1/2 c. cut up cooked chicken or 1 1/2 c. ground beef 1 tsp. chili powder 1/2 tsp. oregano 1/2 tsp. salt 1/4 tsp. cumin 3/4 c. shredded cheddar or Monterey Jack cheese 2 med. tomatoes, sliced 3 c. shredded lettuce 1 (8 oz.) can tomato sauce 1 med. avocado Lemon juice 3/4 c. sour cream 3/4 c. taco sauce Heat tostada shells as directed on package. Heat beans over medium heat until hot. Heat chicken or beef, chili powder, oregano, salt, cumin, and tomato sauce until hot. Peel and cut avocado in slices, sprinkle with lemon juice. Spread about 1/4 cup beans over each shell, spread chicken or beef mixture. Top with cheese, lettuce, tomato, avocado and serve with sour cream and taco sauce. Serves 6. |
