SPAGHETTI PIE
6 oz. spaghetti
2 tbsp. butter
1/3 c. grated Parmesan cheese
2 well-beaten eggs
1 c. cottage cheese
1 lb. ground beef (or pork sausage, if you prefer)
1/2 c. chopped onion
1/4 c. chopped green pepper
1 (8 oz.) can tomatoes, cut up
1 (6 oz.) can tomato paste
1 tsp. sugar
1 tsp. dried oregano
1/2 tsp. garlic salt
1/2 c. shredded Mozzarella cheese

Cook spaghetti (should have about 3 cups). Stir butter into hot spaghetti, then Parmesan cheese and eggs. Form spaghetti mix into a "crust" in buttered 10-inch pie plate. Spread cottage cheese over bottom of crust.

In skillet, saute beef, onion, and green pepper until vegetables are tender and meat is browned. Drain off fat. Stir in undrained tomatoes, tomato paste, sugar, oregano, and garlic salt. Heat through. Turn mixture into spaghetti crust and bake, uncovered, in 350 degree oven for 20 minutes. Sprinkle Mozzarella cheese on top. Bake added 5 minutes or until cheese melts. Makes about 6 servings.
