APPLE CRISP 
8 apples, peeled
4 tbsp. water
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 1/2 c. sifted flour
3/4 c. sugar
1/2 c. butter

Slice apples into baking dish; add water and cinnamon. Sift flour and sugar together, then cut in butter. Spread this crumb mixture over apples and bake at 350 degrees for 45 minutes.

Cut into squares. Serve crisp side up hot or cold with whipped cream, hard sauce or ice cream.
