RUTHERFORD SCHOOL'S PEANUT
BUTTER SQUARES
 
FOR 25 SERVINGS:

1/3 c. butter
1/2 c. peanut butter
1/4 c. brown sugar
1 c. white sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
2 eggs
1/2 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour, sifted
1 tsp. baking powder

FOR 100 SERVINGS:

1 1/3 c. butter
2 c. peanut butter
1 c. brown sugar
1 qt. white sugar
1 tsp. salt
8 eggs
1 1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 qt. flour, sifted
4 tsp. baking powder

Mix first 7 ingredients, at low speed, until well blended. Sift together flour and baking powder. Add shortening mixture to flour mixture, mixing only until blended. Spread to a depth of 1/2 inch in greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Cool. Cut into bars.
