FRESH APPLE PECAN LOAF 
1/2 c. butter flavored shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 1/2 tbsp. sour milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. raisins (optional)
2 c. sifted flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. grated or chopped apple

Topping:

1 tsp. cinnamon
3 tbsp. sugar

Cream sugar and shortening; add eggs. Mix in sifted dry ingredients. Stir in milk and vanilla. Stir in apples, nuts and raisins. Pour into greased loaf pan. Mix cinnamon and 3 tablespoons sugar and sprinkle over batter.

Bake in 350°F oven for 1 hour.

Variation: Add cinnamon to dry ingredients.
