KARMEL KORN 
1 (1 1/4 c.) popcorn, unpopped
2 c. brown sugar
1/2 lb. butter (no substitutes)
1/2 c. light Karo syrup
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. baking soda

Melt butter, add brown sugar, Karo syrup, salt. Bring to boil stirring constantly. Then boil for 6 to 7 minutes without stirring. Remove from heat. Add soda and vanilla. Stir mixture will foam. Pour over popcorn which has been popped and put into a large roaster pan. Stir to coat. Bake for 1 hour (stirring every 15 minutes) at 200 degrees.
