MEATBALLS WITH SAUERKRAUT 
6 strips of bacon, cut into 1 inch pieces
2 sm. onions, diced
2 lb. sauerkraut, drained & washed with cold water
1 c. water
1 tsp. caraway seed
1 lb. ground beef
2 eggs
1 tsp. sugar
3/4 c. rice, cooked
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/2 c. sour cream
3 tbsp. parsley

Brown bacon on slow heat. Add onions; cook until transparent. Stir in sauerkraut, water and caraway seed; mix well. Bring to boil. Then reduce heat and simmer 10 to 15 minutes. Mix beef, rice, eggs and pepper into 8 large balls. Place them oven the sauerkraut. Cover and cook another 20 minutes or until meatballs are done. To sauerkraut add sour cream, sugar and parsley cooked.
