BEEF, POTATO AND BEAN CASSEROLE 
1 lb. ground beef
1 tsp. monosodium glutamate
1 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. pepper
1/8 tsp. oregano or thyme
1/2 c. chili sauce
2 c. thinly sliced peeled potatoes (2 lg.)
1 can (1 lb.) red kidney beans, drained
2 med. onions, sliced

Mix first 5 ingredients lightly. Put in skillet and cook, stirring with fork to break up meat, until lightly browned. Put meat and remaining ingredients in layers in 2 quart casserole, beginning and ending with meat. Cover and bake in moderate oven (375 degrees F.) for 40 minutes. Uncover and bake about 20 minutes longer. Makes 6 servings.
