ROMAN APPLE CAKE 
1 c. Crisco
1 c. white sugar
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 eggs
2 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 c. sour milk
2 c. diced apples

Cream together the first 3 ingredients. After the mixture has been beaten to a fluffy consistency, add eggs. Sift together flour, baking soda, baking powder, salt and cinnamon; add alternately with milk. Add raw diced apples last.

TOPPING:

1/2 c. white sugar
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Sprinkle mixture on top. Bake in greased 8x8x2 pan in 350 degree oven for 1 hour.
