LACE COOKIES 
8 tbsp. butter
1 c. pecan pieces
1 c. sugar
1/4 c. flour
1/8 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. old fashioned oats
1 c. pecan halves
1 egg

Heat oven to 325 degrees. Line baking sheets with foil. Melt butter. Grind pecan pieces and sugar in food processor. Beat together batter, vanilla and egg. Combine the nut mixture, flour, salt and baking soda. Stir into the flour mixture and add the oats. Drop by level teaspoons about 3 inches apart on baking sheets. Place pecan half in center of each. Bake until golden brown, approximately 8 minutes. Cool on foil.
