SEVEN DAY SLAW 
2 heads cabbage
2 red onions
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. oil
3/4 c. vinegar
2 tbsp. sugar
1/4 tbsp. salt
1/2 tbsp. dry mustard
1/4 tbsp. black pepper

Slice cabbage and onions thinly or shred them. Toss with 1/3 cup of sugar. Mix remaining ingredients and bring to a boil. Pour boiling mixture over cabbage, let set, and in five minutes, mix. Chill in refrigerator and serve - will last for seven days. Serves 8 to 12. (Equal can be used in place of sugar.) From Hudsons Restaurant on Hilton Head Island.)
