JEWISH APPLE (& PEACH) CAKE | |
4 apples (or 2 apples & 2 peaches) 4 tsp. sugar 4 eggs 2 c. sugar 1/2 c. orange juice 1 c. oil 3 c. flour 3 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1 tsp. vanilla Grease and flour 9" tube pan. Slice apples. Mix 4 teaspoons sugar with cinnamon. CAKE BATTER: Beat eggs, sugar and oil. Add flour, baking powder, salt, orange juice and vanilla. Pour 1/2 batter in pan. Arrange apple slices on top. Sprinkle with 1/2 sugar and cinnamon. Pour rest of batter on top. Add some apple slices and remaining sugar and cinnamon on top. Bake at 350 degrees for 1 hour. |
