BOTTOM PART: 1 c. plus 1 oz. molasses 1 c. plus 1 oz. hot water 3/4 tsp. baking soda TOP PART: 2 1/4 c. flour 1 1/2 c. brown sugar 1/4 c. shortening Dash of salt Line pie pans with pastry. Mix top part, set aside. Dissolve soda in hot water, then add with molasses. Add half of crumbs with molasses and in pan, top with remaining crumbs. Bake at 400 degrees for 10 minutes, then 350 degrees for 20 minutes. Makes 2 pies. |
