GRANDMA'S PLAIN CUSTARD PIE FILLING | |
1 c. white sugar 1/2 tsp. butter 1 tsp. vanilla 1/4 tsp. nutmeg 1 tbsp. white flour 4 lg. eggs 2 c. scalded milk Heat milk in a saucepan to just scalding (do not boil). In bowl combine the sugar, flour and butter. Beat until well mixed. Add vanilla and eggs and beat hard for 3 minutes. While beating, add milk very slowly. |
