PERFECT PIZZA | |
1 env. yeast 1/4 c. lukewarm water 1 tbsp. honey 3 tbsp. oil 3/4 tsp. salt 3 1/2 c. flour 1 lb. Mozzarella cheese, shredded 3 oz. thinly sliced pepperoni 3 oz. cooked sausage, crumbled Pizza sauce Preheat oven to 500 degrees. In a large bowl, combine yeast, water and 1/4 teaspoon of the honey and stir well. Set aside 10 minutes. Using a wooden spoon, stir in the olive oil, salt, remaining 2 3/4 teaspoon honey and 1 cup warm water. Gradually stir in about 3 cups of flour. Put dough onto floured surface. Knead the dough, adding just enough flour to prevent form sticking, about 7 minutes. Cover with plastic wrap and let rest 10 minutes. Divide into 6 even pieces. Roll each piece into a ball and place several inches apart on a lightly oiled large baking sheet. Cover and set aside to rise in a warm place, about 1 hour. Using your hands, flatten and stretch each ball to a disk about 6 inches in diameter and 1/4 inch thick. Top with sauce, cheese and meats. Bake 8-12 minutes. |
