DOLORES'S HARVEST LOAF 
1 3/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 tsp. ginger
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. ground cloves
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
2 eggs
3/4 c. canned pumpkin
3/4 c. semi-sweet chocolate morsels
3/4 c. finely chopped walnuts

Grease loaf pan and set aside. Combine the flour with the salt, baking soda and spices (sift) and set aside. Cream butter and sugar together; add eggs and blend well, beating with the mixer at low speed. Add dry ingredients alternating with the pumpkin. Stir in the chocolate morsels and 1/2 cup nuts. Put mixture in greased loaf pan and sprinkle with remaining nuts. Bake at 350 degrees for 65 to 75 minutes.
