DUTCH APPLE PIE 
1 1/2 qt. sliced apples (5 c.)
1 tbsp. lemon juice
3 tbsp. flour
3/4 c. white sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. nutmeg
1/4 tsp. salt

Line a 9-inch pie pan with pastry. Sprinkle apples with lemon juice. Add combined ingredients; toss gently until apples are well coated. Put apples in pan and sprinkle with topping:

1/2 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1/4 tsp. salt
1 c. flour, sifted

Cream butter; add salt and sugar. Add flour to this and mix until crumbs are size of a pea. Cover apples; bake at 375 degrees for 55 minutes. Serve warm with vanilla ice cream.
