ROLLED SUGAR COOKIES 
4 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. shortening
1 heaping c. sugar
2 eggs, beaten
1 tsp. baking soda
1/3 c. milk
1/2 tsp. vanilla

Mix the flour, baking powder, salt, and shortening as for pie. In another bowl, add the soda to the sugar; mix well. Add beaten eggs, milk, and vanilla. Pour the sugar mixture and mix until smooth. Roll out on floured board and cut in desired shape. Bake in moderate oven. These cookies are especially good for beginners, they will not stick to the board. Oven, 350 degrees.
