1/4 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1 c. butter
1 tsp. vanilla
Nuts (optional)

Cream sugar and butter. Add flour and vanilla (nuts optional). Make into balls and press thumb in middle. Put on ungreased cookie sheet. Bake at 300 degrees for 20-30 minutes.

For Icing: Use hot water and confectioners' sugar.
