GRANDMA'S THUMB PRINT COOKIES 
1/2 lb. butter
2 egg yolks (save whites)
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla
2 c. flour
Walnuts
Apricot jelly
Strawberry jelly

1. Mix butter, egg yolks, sugar, vanilla and flour.

2. Roll into small balls and flatten.

3. Dip edges of flattened ball in egg whites and roll into nuts.

4. Bake at 325 degrees for about 1/2 hour.

5. After 15 minutes, stick thumb in middle of cookies.

6. While cooling, spoon jelly into thumbprint.
