ACORN COOKIES 
1 c. lightly salted butter, melted
3/4 c. firmly packed light brown sugar
1 1/2 c. finely chopped pecans
1 tsp. vanilla extract
2 3/4 c. all purpose flour
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2/3 c. semi sweet chocolate pieces

1. Preheat oven to 375 degrees.

2. Beat together butter and sugar. Stir in 3/4 cup pecans and the vanilla extract.

3. Mix flour and baking powder; beat into butter mixture.

4. Shape dough into small balls. Place 1" apart on ungreased cookie sheets. Flatten bottoms of cookies by gently pressing. Pinch tops to resemble acorns.

5. Bake about 15 minutes or until golden. Cool.

6. Melt chocolate over warm water. Dip flat ends of cookies into chocolate, then into remaining pecans. Cool on wax paper. Makes 4 to 5 dozen.
