MRS. G.'S BLUE RIBBON PIE 
4 c. (sliced thin) Golden Delicious apples
3/4 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. plain flour
1/8 tsp. ground cloves
1/4 tsp. ground nutmeg
1 tsp. cinnamon

Combine together. Add to apples. Coat and let set 1 hour.

3 tbsp. butter

Dot bottom of pie crust with 1 1/2 tablespoons butter. Pour in apple mixture; put remaining 1 1/2 tablespoons of butter on apples.

Roll out dough for top. Cut out circles of pastry (2 1/2 or 3 inch rounds). Place in circles around edge of top. Fill in between circles with shaped leaves or stems from area left between circles. Sprinkle top with 2 tablespoons brown sugar and 1/2 teaspoon cinnamon mixed. Bake at 375 degrees for 50-55 minutes or until golden brown.
