ASPARAGUS PARMESAN 
2 lb. fresh asparagus
Boil water with 1/2 tsp. salt
1/4 c. butter
1/4 tsp. black pepper
1/4 c. fresh grated Parmesan cheese

Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Butter a one quart shallow oval baking dish. Cut off tough ends of a asparagus. Wash well with cold water. Clean thoroughly 1/2 inch; add salt. Place asparagus spears in water; cover. Boil vigorously 8 to 10 minutes. Drain.

Layer 1/2 of the asparagus in the prepared dish; dot with butter, pepper. Repeat with remaining asparagus. Sprinkle with cheese. Bake 5 minutes. Serves 6.
