MONTANA BROWNIES 
1 c. white sugar
1 c. brown sugar
4 eggs, well beaten
2 1/2 sq. chocolate or 2 1/2 tbsp. cocoa plus 2 tbsp. shortening
2/3 c. melted shortening
1 c. flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. chopped nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

Beat eggs well and add sugar. Melt butter and chocolate. Add to egg mixture. Sift flour, baking powder, and salt and add to mixture. Add nuts and vanilla. Spread on 11 x 6 inch well greased pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 25-30 minutes.
