LANE CAKE 
4 eggs
1 c. Crisco
2 c. sugar
3 c. plain flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
2 tsp. flavoring (vanilla)

Cream shortening and sugar on high speed for 10 minutes. Add 1 egg at a time and beat well 1 cup flour and beat on low speed for 1 minute. Add remaining flour and milk, and beta well. Add flavoring and mix. Divide for layer cake and bake at 325 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

FILLING:

Beat 8 egg yolks, add 1 cup sugar, 1/2 cup butter. Cook in deep pan on top of stove on low heat until thick. Stir often. While hot, add 1 cup raisins, 1 cup coconut, 1 pound pecans, 1 wine glass brandy, 1 tablespoon vanilla; spread thick between layers of cake.
