RED DEVIL'S FOOD CAKE 
1/2 c. butter
2 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. sour milk
1 heaping tsp. baking soda
2 1/2 c. flour
2/3 c. cocoa, dissolved in 1/2 c. boiling water
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tsp. vanilla

Cream butter slowly, add sugar; cream thoroughly. Add well beaten eggs and soda dissolved in hot water. Alternately add sour milk and flour. Mix to a smooth batter, add vanilla. Bake in 350 degree oven for 40 minutes.
