HUNGRY BOYS' CASSEROLE | |
1/2 c. chopped celery 1/4 c. chopped onion 1/4 c. chopped green pepper 1 lb. ground beef 1 lb. can pork and beans 1/4 c. catsup 1/4 c. water 1/2 tsp. salt 1/2 tsp. garlic salt BISCUITS: 1 c. flour 1 1/2 tsp. baking powder 1/2 tsp. salt 1/3 c. milk 3 tbsp. oil Preheat oven to 425 degrees. Sprinkle celery, onion and green pepper in bottom of 8 inch baking dish. Crumble ground beef on top. Bake uncovered at 425 degrees for 20 minutes. Remove from oven. Stir in pork and beans, catsup, water, salt and garlic salt until well blended. Return casserole to oven for 10 minutes while preparing biscuits. Place biscuits on top of bean mixture by spoonfuls. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 to 20 minutes. Biscuits; combine flour, baking powder and salt in a bowl. Combine milk and oil. Add to dry ingredients all at once stirring until dough clings together. Knead on floured surface about 8 times. Roll out to 1/4 inch thickness. Cut in circles with cutter. Serves 4 to 5. |
