SUGARED NUTS 
2 1/2 c. walnuts
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
Pinch of salt

Toast walnuts in a shallow pan in a 350 degree oven for about 10 minutes. Watch that they don't get too brown. Stir frequently.

Cook sugar, water, cinnamon, salt to soft ball stage 236 degrees. Remove from heat. Add vanilla. Add nuts and stir gently until nuts are well coated and look "sugary". Separate as they cool.
