SCOTCH CAKES 
1 c. butter
2 c. flour
1/4 c. confectioners' sugar

Gradually add sugar and flour, which have been sifted together, to the softened butter. Cream thoroughly after each additional until all ingredients are thoroughly mixed.

Roll out 1/4 inch thick on a floured surface, cut into circles 1 - 1 1/2 inches in diameter. Bake on an ungreased cookie sheet in 350 degree oven until the bottoms are lightly browned, about 8 minutes.

After cooling, frost with a thin confectioners' sugar icing and top with a piece of cherry. Makes about 4 dozen cookies.
