BARBECUED CHICKEN 
4 (4 1/2 lbs.) chickens
1/4 c. salad oil

BARBECUE SAUCE:

1 c. ketchup
1/2 c. Worcestershire sauce
1/2 c. water
1/4 c. cider vinegar
1 chopped onion
1 clove garlic, minced
1/4 c. A-1 sauce

Cut chicken into serving size pieces. Wash and dry. Salt and pepper to taste. Heat 1/4 cup salad oil in a heavy skillet. Brown chicken, then place in roaster or large casserole. To make barbecue sauce, combine ketchup, Worcestershire sauce, water, cider vinegar, chopped onion, chopped garlic clove, and A-1 sauce. Pour over chicken and cover. Bake at 325 degrees for 1 hour or until tender. Serves 8 to 10 minutes.
