DANISH ROLLS 
2 pkgs. active dry yeast
1/4 c. lukewarm water
1/2 c. shortening
1 c. hot milk
1/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
4 or 5 c. flour
1 tsp. salt

Soften yeast in warm water. Measure sugar, salt, and shortening into bowl; add hot milk. Stir until shortening is broken up. Cool to lukewarm. Stir in flour to make soft dough. Let rise in warm place until double in bulk. Roll out to 1/4 inch thick. Spread 1/4 cup butter on. Fold one end to center, then fold other end to make 3 layers. Then roll to about 1/4 to 1/2 inch thick. Put 1/4 cup butter on this and roll again. Cut dough in 1/2 to 3/4 inch strips. Make snails. Let raise and bake at 375 degrees or until brown. Cool a little and frost with powdered sugar frosting. Top with a dot of jelly.
