SWEET & SOUR BEEF STEW | |
1 1/2 lbs. boneless beef chuck steak, cut into 3/4 inch cubes 2 tbsp. all-purpose flour 1 tsp. salt 3 med. carrots, thinly sliced 1 can (8 oz.) tomato sauce 1/4 c. packed brown sugar 1/4 c. vinegar 1/4 c. water 1 med. onion, thinly sliced & separated into rings 1 tbsp. Worcestershire sauce Stir beef, flour and salt in 2-quart casserole until beef is coated. Add remaining ingredients. Microwave, covered, at HIGH (100%) for 5 minutes. Reduce power to MEDIUM (50%). Microwave until beef is tender, 50 minutes to 1 hour, stirring 2 or 3 times during cooking. Let stand for 5 to 10 minutes. Serve over rice or noodles, if desired. |
