YOKO'S MARINATED CHICKEN 
2 tbsp. sugar
1/2 c. soy sauce
1/2 c. mirin or sake
2 stalks green onion
3 lg. garlic cloves
1 tbsp. ginger
6 chicken breasts, cubed

Boil sugar, soy sauce, and mirin just long enough to dissolve sugar, 2-3 minutes. Cool. Add minced green onion, chopped garlic, and grated ginger. Marinate chicken in mixture at least 5 hours. Stick on skewers and broil 3 minutes each side.
