VANISHING OATMEAL BARS 
1/2 lb. (2 sticks) butter, softened
1 c. brown sugar, firmly packed
1/2 c. granulated sugar
2 eggs
1 tsp. vanilla
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. raisins
3 c. uncooked rolled oats, old-fashion or quick

Heat oven to 350°F. Beat together butter and sugars until creamy. Add eggs and vanilla; beat well. Combine flour, baking soda, cinnamon and salt; add to liquid mixture. Mix well. Stir in oats and raisins; mix well.

Bake 30 minutes in 9 x 13-inch ungreased baking pan.

Yield: 24 medium bars.

Note: This also works well with dried cranberries or cherries. One-half cup of nuts can also be added.
