SPANISH RICE 
1/4 c. butter
1 c. rice, uncooked
1 (16 oz.) can whole tomatoes
1 onion, sliced
1 green pepper, chopped
1 tsp. salt
1 c. water
2 tsp. sugar

Saute onion and pepper in butter until tender. Add rice, tomatoes, water, salt, sugar; stir. Simmer until rice is tender and water has evaporated, about 45 minutes.

EGG NOODLES OR POT PIE DOUGH:

1 c. flour
1 tsp. salt
1 egg
2 tbsp. water

Mix all ingredients, then knead lightly. Roll out very thin. Cut into strips or squares depending on what you are making. Cook in boiling liquid 15 to 20 minutes.
