SPONGE CAKE 
4 eggs
3/4 c. sugar
3/4 c. flour
2 tbsp. warm water
Pinch of salt

Separate eggs. To yolks, add sugar and water; beat until light lemon colored. Add sifted flour. Beat whites stiff; add salt, then add to yolk mixture. Pour into greased and sugared pan; sprinkle with sugar and bake in 350 degree oven 30 minutes. Cool and turn out. Slice in half horizontally and spread bottom layer with jam or fruit, then spread whipped cream over all. Replace remaining half cake on top and dust with confectioners' sugar. Refrigerate until serving.
